Sown in May and harvested in September, hemp plants easily reach heights of 3 metres. All of the male plants in the field are destroyed by hand to produce an essential oil from the female flowers only whose quality is superior. During the distillation process to extract the essence from the plant, the THC and CBC are not driven by the steam that travels through the harvested plants and so, only the essential oil results. The latter is therefore considered free from THC and CBD, an essential requirement in the food industry.
